FLU CLINICS

Flu clinics are now available for booking. Please contact reception to make an appointment. If you already have an appointment to see the nurse or doctor for a routine check-up you will be offered your flu jab whilst here so there is no need to book another appointment.

The Department of Health recommends a flu vaccination if you are:

  • Aged 65 or over
  • Living in a residential or nursing home
  • People in receipt of carer’s allowance or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.

or if you have any of these problems (however old you are):

  • A chronic heart or chest complaint
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Diabetes
  • Lowered immunity due to disease or treatment such as steroid medication or cancer treatment
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Chronic neurological disease

To help with car parking at these busy clinics the Engineers Club next door have kindly offered their car park for patient use whilst attending the Saturday morning flu clinic.

If you have had a flu vaccination elsewhere or do not wish to be vaccinated, we would be grateful if you could let us know.
