Home Visit Requests

Because of ever increasing pressures on the doctor’s time a home visit may not always be offered automatically.

When a home visit is requested the receptionist will take a few details about the patient and their problem and ask for a contact telephone number.  If it seems that the patient could come to the surgery and be seen as an urgent appointment the doctor may be contacted to decide whether this is appropriate.

The doctor, often in discussion with the person who has requested the visit always takes the decision for a home visit request.  Advice on the telephone may be all that is required, or an urgent appointment at the surgery may be more appropriate.

If you require a home visit please contact the surgery before 10.30 am.  Visit requests after this should be for emergencies only.
